Traditional teaching focuses on helping students learn academic subjects like math, reading, and history. It encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and learning how to engage with different perspectives. 

Critical pedagogy, on the other hand, shifts education away from learning and toward political activism. It teaches students to view the world narrowly through a lens of power, oppression, and identity. Lessons lead students to predetermined conclusions, not independent thinking.
